eSquabble Community Guidelines

eSquabble is a unique online community in which participants challenge one another to debate on a wide range of topics, from roommate tiffs to sports debates to Hatfield v. McCoy arguments. These guidelines are here to help make sure that all of us make the community a fun and rewarding place. eSquabble expects each member to conduct himself or herself accordingly and govern himself or herself by these Guidelines and the eSquabble Terms of Service.

When Squabbling:

  • Be Specific. Everyone from your neighbor to a person in a foreign country is going to be reading your Squabble. Make sure there is enough information for the average reader to be able to say, "Hey, she/he's right!"
  • Be Aggressive, Yet Respectful. Sometimes the heat of debate makes us take it up a notch and get personal. Make your point forcefully, but only attack your opponent's argument, not his/her character, personality, etc.
  • Obey the Golden Rule. Remember, you are putting your argument out in the open. Do not say anything about someone else that you could not tolerate being said about you.
  • Have Fun! You now have the opportunity to settle a score that's been bugging you more years, months or minutes! State your case and let the eSquabble community decide who wins!

Do NOT:

  • Exploit, solicit, or harm minors.
  • Post adult, vulgar, or obscene content or use sexually explicit language.
  • Solicit others for any purpose, except to respond to a Squabble.
  • Incite or advocate violence or harm against a person, group of people, or animals.
  • Harass, threaten, insult, or attempt to intimidate others.
  • Post racist, incendiary, or otherwise objectionable content.
  • Post content that violates federal, state, or local law.
  • Post content for advertising or commercial purposes.
  • Post links to sites that force the download of a virus or malicious program, or in any way interfere with the operation of eSquabble.
  • Create multiple accounts for the purpose of violating community guidelines and to alter the eSquabble voting process.
  • Trade passwords, product decryption keys, or programs.
  • Impersonate a third party, or participate as anything or anybody other than yourself.
  • Falsely claim credentials or expertise that you do not possess.
  • Invade the privacy of a third party by posting his or her personally identifiable information.
  • Engage in chatting or personal correspondence. Some examples are:
    • How are you doing?
    • What's your name?
    • How old are you?
    • What time is it?
  • Post in the wrong language, or post content that is incomprehensible.
  • Post the same question excessively.

Also keep in mind...

  • Age restriction. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to register, participate in or vote on eSquabble.
  • Response to violations. eSquabble reserves the right to remove content that we determine, in our absolute discretion, to be inappropriate and/or in violation of any eSquabble policy. Depending on the level of offense, you may risk deactivation of your eSquabble i.d. and everything associated with it, including Squabbles, votes, etc. If you are unsure whether your content is appropriate or consistent with these policies, please err on the side of caution and do not post it on eSquabble.

We reserve the right to revise these guidelines at any time and without notice.
